Comment:

 Count this RESOLVED as user error.  I did not recognize that there were
 two different font settings.  After some tinkering around, I realized the
 "conversation font" was only the font that I would see my own outgoing
 messages formatting in to myself only.  I am not sure what wording would
 better convey that fact within the preferences/conversations window.  I am
 certain there would be many users making the same mistake that I made.
