 For some time now, but continuing for at least the last 3 releases, the
 release notification is showing up every time the plugin is enabled and I
 have the latest release or not.

 It seems that there is white space in the message where the new version
 string should be.

 It might be a problem with a firewall/proxy at work here, but all the
 other protocols etc work.

 I tried to report this at the plugin pack tracker, but when I submit I get
 this:

 500 Internal Server Error (Submission rejected as potential spam)

 so I cannot.

 Hope I don't upset anyone by reporting a plugin bug here.
