 This is simply stupid.  It's obvious your users want you to change this
 feature.  But as of 2.5 it isn't done and after reading this exchange I
 can see why.  From one developer to another to see this kind of reaction
 to your user base saddens me deeply.  I implore all pidgin users to go
 over to funpidgin it has the features you are looking for.  And I
 personally hate the new entry area, it's too small and the auto size thing
 just doesn't work.  I often paste large spots of code from my real IDE to
 pidgin (suggesting we use pidgin for coding, make you a jackass of the nth
 degree) and not being able to re-size is a real pain.
