 Pidgin crashes when trying to remove a custom buddy icon.

 steps: open conversation of buddy with icon. right-click icon and "Set
 Custom Icon".  Right-click again and "Remove Custom Icon". Pidgy dies.

 this occurred in 2.5.0, 2.5.1, 2.5.2-dev in Ubuntu and 2.5.1 in winXP

 in Win tracing gave: "GLib: g_file_get_contents_utf8: assertion `filename
 != NULL' failed"
