 Before using Pidgin, I used Microsoft Live Messenger and I had the option
 to add contacts that were using Yahoo Messenger with Yahoo accounts, so
 while I was logging in with a Hotmail account I could also have Yahoo
 people in my list.

 None of those buddies appear in my list when logged in with Pidgin. My
 Hotmail account appears offline to my Yahoo buddies.
