 It looks like deryni's evaluation was correct - your network setup is such
 that something is preventing connections to the servers.

 If your network requires a proxy, you'll need to specify one, otherwise
 you'll have to figure out if there is something special you should be
 doing for your particular network configuration (e.g. using a different
 port or something).
