 I am using 2.5.1, and this issue still exists.  I get it a few times a
 week, including just now.  I just received:

 Unknown error number 29. Logging into the Yahoo! website may fix this.

 In fact, going to webmessenger.yahoo.com and logging in seems to clear
 whatever issue there is, and switching back to pidgin and re-enabling
 allows me to log in 90+% of the time.
