 Sometimes, but not always, MSN fails to connect for me with Pidgin 2.5.1.
 I did use 2.5.0 for a week or so and it always worked fine, but that may
 be coincidence as this appears to possibly be something to do with the MSN
 contacts I have online at the time I connect.

 The symptom is that on attempting to connect to MSN it does connect to the
 requisite server(s) and download a load of data to do with my contacts but
 then it encounters some error in the processing of that data and the
 entire MSN connection ends up in a 'zombie' state.  The bottom status
 panel shows "Available - Connecting' with the spinning wheel thing NOT
 spinning.

 The last thing in the console output is:

 (09:28:55) soap: read: Invalid or incomplete multibyte or wide character

 Full log of a startup attempt, with no accounts enabled, and then MSN
 being enabled is attached.  Usually I have ICQ, AIM, Yahoo and
 Livejournal's IM enabled as well.  They all connect without problems when
 MSN has this problem.  Indeed the whole rest of the client continues to
 work properly other than the stuck 'spinning circle' when the MSN
 connection fails.
