Comment:

 Nothing "changed" to make it crash.  It never worked.  I just installed it
 and it crashes.  Most of the time it dies within 30 seconds but I have
 gotten it to work up to ~5 minutes.  It seems the sending/receiving of
 messages is what triggers the crash.
