Comment:

 Ok, I made a few more small changes and tested it and I can't reproduce
 the race condition now.  I'd be interested in hearing if you still have
 the problem after mtn pulling and mtn updating (or you could wait for
 Pidgin 2.5.2 to be released).  Thanks!
