 The following text in a chat:

 person1 (http://person1.com/person1): @person2
 (http://person2.com/person2) It worked!

 renders as

 person1 ([http://person1.com/person1):] @person2
 ([http://person2.com/person2]) It worked!

 Note, the first URL includes the open bracket and colon, where the second
 identifies the open bracket as not being part of the URI.

 I've not had a chance to look at the pidgin code to resolve this issue,
 but wanted to flag it up as an issue.
