 No, no it should not. Unless you're simply trying to correct it to how it
 used to work, then yes, that would be an acceptable stepping stone that
 would make things a little bit easier...

 But, as I see it, the goal of this ticket is a listbox of all online
 buddies, with the ability to select multiple people to invite all at once.
 I don't really have any GTK programming experience, and know nothing about
 the Pidgin codebase, but this might be a pretty easy extension to the New
 Instant Message dialog...
