 To explain a little more clearly, the intended behaviour of the
 conversation entry area at this point is that it will start at whatever
 height you have specififed in the preferences and as you type and reach
 the number of lines specified the entry area will grow to accomodate your
 extra text until it reaches half the height of the history area at which
 point it will grow no more and scroll bars will be added. After you send
 the message the entry area will resize itself to the value you have
 specified in the preferences. If that is not what you are seeing then
 please explain exactly what you are seeing (and attach screen shots if
 they will be of explanatory assistance). If that is what you are seeing
 then as datallah suggested try it for a while and you will almost
 certainly get used to it.
