 Problem 2: deryni was right. I've attached a Pidgin 2.5.1 screencast
 illustrating the problem. The behavior can be reproduced in the dropdowns
 for New Instant Message and View User log.

 Problem 1: This only happens for View User Log. I'll attach right now a
 screencast for that too.
