 That particular link works fine for me, but pasting
 http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/2975177/Google-takes-on-MSN-and-
 Yahoo-in-rap.html causes my Pidgin to hang as well.

 I'm on Ubuntu Hardy, running Pidgin 2.4.1.
