 Hi,
 I did not have any sound in pidgin for several days and was unaible to
 figure out, why. When I pressed the "Test" button on the sound preferences
 tab it worked well. I even tried updating to the latest version which did
 not help.
 Eventually I found the "mute" entry in the "Tools" menu. I once probably
 pressed the shortkeys by accident. The "mute" entry is hard to overlook
 but for people who are as blind as me there should be a "mute" toggle in
 the sound preferences because you would actually suppose it to be there.
