 i did some analyzing and found the following out. please correct me, if
 i'm wrong, i'm new to the oscar protocol and pidgin development:

 - when a user gets away with a status message, pidgin recognizes it and
 shows the away message correctly in the buddy list (valid location
 packet). but just a second after it, pidgin tries to get the status note
 using family_icq's aim_icq_getstatusnote. this request doesn't seem to be
 understood by the icq server, a "invalid search" packet is returned
 without any status information and pidgin again removes the away message
 from the buddy list.

 workaround for this is just to disable aim_icq_getstatusnote, then all
 away messages seem to be shown correctly. but this won't help us,
 aim_icq_getstatusnote should be working. at least, because of this:

 - when a user gets e.g. available with a status message, pidgin won't show
 the status message in the buddy list (no incoming location packet). so i
 guess there should the aim_icq_getstatusnote has its place and fetch the
 status message.
