 Ok, got that to work, but as soon as I try to connect to my accounts,
 Pidgin crashes - whether I use GNOME's proxy settings or manually
 configure my own HTTP proxy settings.  With no proxy, the connection
 attempt hangs seemingly indefinitely, so I'm stuck unable to log in to
 anything!  See most recent backtrace that I just added.

 Can you either re-open this bug or re-open #7047?
