Comment:

 I have tried this again and it is sometimes just a display issue. The
 contacts stay blocked according to the tooltip that appears when I hover
 over the contact but the little blocked icon is missing. If I then "block"
 the contact, it actually unblocks the contact but the blocked icon
 incorrectly appears. Finally, when I then "unblock" the contact, it is
 blocked and the blocked icon stays.

 If I sign out of MSN and back in again or even restart Pidgin the problem
 remains until I unblock and block the contact again. If I log into MSN
 from Pidgin on a different computer without the problem (i.e. an earlier
 version) then the icons are displayed correctly.

 However, If I unblock and then reblock one contact, then when I restart
 Pidgin the other blocked contacts really are unblocked so it's not always
 just a display issue.

 I have a debug log but don't want to upload it somewhere publicly
 accessible due to private information in it. Is there any way around this?
