Comment:

 Because I've been very busy the last day I could only check the xev thing
 today. And while checking it I noticed that this bug seems to be fixed.
 The reason of this being fixed must be a system update I did yesterday.
 Unfortunately I don't know which package update solved my issue. I've
 looked through the updates and there was no pidgin update, no xserver or
 xkeyboard. The only package which could be involved is KDE which was
 updated to KDE 4.2.2.
 So I'm happy that I finally can use the normal parse-shortcut again
 instead of the shift+insert alternative. Thanks for your support. As I
 can't choose upstream as a resolution I'll just mark it as fixed.
