Comment(by Daioh):

 Having the same problem here and already had this for a long, LONG time.
 Using Pidgin 2.5.5 here, so it also applies to that version. The problem
 appears random. Sometimes I can stay in the chat room for days, while
 sometimes I get disconnected within 5 minutes. It disconnects with a
 general 'you have been disconnected' error.

 It seems like it doesn't try to reconnect at all when I look at the logs:

 {{{
 (20:54:54) oscar: Attempting to join chat room mzdm.
 (20:54:54) oscar: chatnav exists, creating room
 (20:54:55) oscar: created room: mzdm 4 0 64 1239044080 2000 38 1 22 mzdm
 !aol://2719:10-4-mzdm
 }}}

 And then it does nothing. But when I try to connect to the same Chat with
 an account that has not been disconnected yet it says this:

 {{{
 (20:55:38) oscar: Attempting to join chat room mzdm.
 (20:55:38) oscar: chatnav exists, creating room
 (20:55:38) oscar: created room: mzdm 4 0 64 1239044124 2000 38 1 22 mzdm

 (20:55:39) oscar: Connecting to chat room !aol://2719:10-4-mzdm exchange 4

 (20:55:39) proxy: Attempting connection to 64.12.29.200
 (20:55:39) proxy: Connecting to 64.12.29.200:5190 with no proxy

 (20:55:39) proxy: Connecting to 64.12.29.200:5190.
 (20:55:39) oscar: connected to FLAP server of type 0x000e
 (20:55:39) oscar: FLAP connection of type 0x000e is now fully connected
 (20:55:39) oscar: inside chat_info_update (maxmsglen = 2000, maxvislen =

 }}}

 And connects like it's supposed to.
