#8923: Massive RAM Usage, Constant Locks
---------------------------------------+------------------------------------

My Pidgin 2.5.5 is currently using about 600MB of RAM and that amount is
growing. It's only been running about 6 hours total, since I upgraded
from 2.2.? to 2.5.5. I upgraded because, ever since I added a second
monitor, Pidgin had been, every couple of minutes, stopping dead for 5-15
seconds, regardless of whether or not I was using it.

However, upgrading hasn't fixed this problem.

 I have tried several solutions:

I have tried the buddy list as both dockable and undockable (Using the
Windows Options plugin and then not using it). The hard-locks occur
regardless of whether or not the Pidgin window is docked on the second
 monitor.

I have also tried leaving the Pidgin Buddy List window closed, only using
the taskbar button (Near the system clock) to access it when needed, but
 the locks still continued unabated.

I have even tried running Pidgin over on my "main" monitor and the RAM
usage and hard locks have continued.

The only indicator of when is about to start is that, momentarily, on the
taskbar, a second entry for Pidgin's Buddy List window will appear (On the
main taskbar, between the start menu and system clock areas), flicker, and
then disappear. As it is up, the system lags, Pidgin locks, and RAM usage
 ticks upward.

I am running Windows XP 64, with the latest service packs and updates
installed, along with Pidgin 2.5.5, downloaded and installed today.

 I am running a Q9300 quad-core processor overclocked to 3ghz, have 4GB of
DDR2 RAM, and am running an ASUS P5Q-PRO motherboard. All of my system
 drivers are up-to-date.

I am using the Multi-Mon tool to run a second taskbar in my second
 monitor.
