 I don't know if you are aware but Yahoo has the possibility to create
 different profiles for messenger so you can send from a different name a
 message than your main ID with which you login, it would be nice when
 starting a new conversation to be able to select from what ID to send the
 message. I am looking for this for a long time on linux and the guys at
 yahoo don't want to update their messenger for linux.
