 I have noticed this also.  I currently have both GAIM v1.3.0 and Pidgin
 2.5.2 installed.  I like the interface of the older GAIM and this is my
 primary client.  I had thought it might be outdated and no longer working.
 Long story short: '''The work around I have been using is to go to
 webmessenger.yahoo.com and login in there. Once logged in, logout and
 close the window. Open Pidgin. All Yahoo accounts now login ok.''' (Most
 users can stop here as this is what they are using.) Then I close Pidgin
 and open GAIM and I can then login to all my yahoo accounts.  I hope this
 might help others as well as the person fixing the issue.
