Comment(by LimitedEdition):

 As with all of the bugs I've had recently, only started with version 2.5.5
 of Pidgin. The following error:

 Could not establish a connection with the server:
 Connection refused.

 Happens most of the time with Yahoo. Other services connect fine, and
 Yahoo connects fine when using their messenger.
