 One of the points of using IQ stanzas for this is that server support
 notwithstanding the ping works exactly as the client wants it to because
 XMPP entities MUST respond to IQ stanzas. So unless the XEP specifically
 says we should stop, and I can't imagine it does (nor do I recall having
 seen that the last time I read it) stopping serves no purpose.
