 I'm using ejabberd as my jabber server. When I search for users of my
 server, I am able to find users and the following information is
 displayed.
 JabberID, Nickname, Name, UserID and Email

 I'd like to use the Nickname as the default in the contact list. However,
 once I select a user and add to my list, the user name on the contact list
 shows up as the jabber ID rather than the nickname. I have set the
 nickname to be Firstname Lastname (John Doe). However, on my contact list,
 the user shows up as jdoe at servername instead.

 On a similar note, the issue also appears to apply to my own name as well.
 On a chat window, my name shows up as
  myusername at servername/88812312318576632134

 However, I can do to accounts-manage accounts-modify account
 and set a local alias and then it is fine.

 It would be nice if at both places, we could use the nickname as the
 default (or a way for users to set it to some field)
