Comment:

 I am running it as the same user, which is also the admin. And the files
 in `c:\Program Files\Pidgin` are there, and I can boot up from the Pidgin
 shortcut in that folder, but Pidgin is not anywhere else on the system,
 including my desktop and the programs from the start button. And so far
 Pidgin is the only program that does this. I'll try some other programs
 and let you know if the problem duplicates. 5 bucks says it's a Vista
 issue. Thanks.
