 That ticket was marked as ''fixed'' by the reporter, which means it
 probably was fixed for him/her.

 Please try upgrading to 2.5.8.

 What sounds can you not disable? Does the global "Mute Sounds" option in
 the Tools menu stop the sounds (yes, I know this isn't a valid workaround,
 but I'm trying to understand the issue better).
