 This is not specific to Skype, nor is it a bug with Windows.  If the
 username contains illegal characters then it needs to have those
 characters escaped before trying to create a log file.  I'm getting the
 same thing over Sametime.  Sametime uses the LDAP cn as a username, and
 those have parentheses and slashes and all sorts of ugly things which can
 be troublesome.  e.g.:

 CN=Last\, First,OU=Department Name (hi mom),OU=Corporate HQ
 (100),OU=Employees,DC=us,DC=domain,DC=com
