 The reverting to black is because we detect that foreground color has
 already been applied and the menu item is a checkbox (so the next click
 turns it off, a second click will enable new color selection). I'm not
 sure how we could best fix that.

 The fact that we don't support mouse-based disjoint text selection may be
 a GTK+ limitation, I'm not sure it would need to be investigated (a quick
 look at the GtkTextBuffer docs make it look like this is a GTK+
 limitation). Do we know if WebKit supports this?
