 hi,

 following your steps I got it updated. But the true is I didn't set any
 alias for this buddy => I would expect to have it updated via steps
 described in my original ticket text.

 I just expected behavior similar to my icq account functionality which
 sometimes displays numbers instead of nicknames for new poeple in my
 contact list. There is enough to right click and choose get info and nick
 is updated correctly.
