 "Reset formatting" and "set current formatting as default" are two
 entirely different functions, and no the formatting from a paste likely
 should not persist but formatting that is manually specified has every
 reason to persist, as well as many reasons not to persist, unfortunately
 only the user knows if they want persistence or not for any given message
 and formatting.
