Comment:

 A branch was created for work on making pidgin use GTK+ 3 APIs, it isn't
 done but probably covers this stuff (and if it hasn't made these changes
 specifically it will get there).

 As to the rest of the items in the patch, I'm going to guess that enough
 of them will not apply cleanly (either because they have already been done
 or because the code around them has changed too much) so I'm going to
 close this ticket as out of date. Note that if there are still outstanding
 issues new tickets can be filed for them (with patches) and they will
 likely be handled in a more timely fashion. (Sorry this wasn't.) Also
 smaller patches each covering specific issues are more likely to be dealt
 with than huge patches covering multiple issues.
