Comment:

 This change has two undesirable side effects:
 1. Buddies screen name formatting no longer shows up.  All screen names
 appear lowercase and without spaces.
 2. Away messages never appear as HTML (even in the Get Info response
 window).

 I'll attach a revised patch that fixes #1 and removes a lot of now-
 unnecessary code.  But doesn't fix #2 yet.  I'll probably work on #2 a
 little bit right now and see if I can fix it.
