 Hi.

 I'm on gentoo, with pidgin 2.6.1 .

 I'm having the same error as in bug #9505. however i've upgraded to 2.6.1
 and it's not fixed yet.
 the issue happened after i used the listhandler plugin to export/import
 meanwhile contacts into xmpp. but by mistake i imported into msn. then i
 can't connect to msn and i get msn connection reading error.
 after rebuilding pidgin with debug enabled, i see that it's failing due to
 receiving several contacts in meanwhile format (uid=blabla,
 ou=blahblah...).

 this is pidgin/msn specific. using amsn, or messenger on windows works
 fine. the only workaround i found was to use msn-pecan plugin in pidgin so
 i can login into msn again. there it works fine.

 these invalid contacts are stored on msn servers somewhere, as i don't see
 them in hotmail.com contacts, neither in msn messenger on windows. but i
 see pidgin is still receiving them in the debugs.

 i'll attach the debug log output. to avoid spammers harvesting emails, and
 for privacy reasons, i've replaced hotmail.com with validh-mail.com , and
 the invalid contacts i've replaced the contact from uid=blah AT
 company.com to uid=blah AT invalid-email.com .

 any help would be appreciated.
