necessary?

 Pidgin won't compile out of the box since some plugins (disco, gestures,
 cap, musicmessagin) need the file `libgmodule-2.0.la` which some distros
 (OpenSuse >= 11.1 for instance) don't provide anymore.

 It would be great if this could be fixed.
