 Hi there,

 I've just updated pidgin to 2.6 (running Ubuntu Jaunty, packages from
 getdeb.net) and it seems like those "I am typing" notifications don't work
 when communicating with an pidgin 2.5 client.

 Trying to deal with this problem I reinstalled pidgin 2.5 and it didn't
 work, either. After my communication partner restarted his copy of pidgin,
 communication between our two clients worked again.

 I also watched the xmpp console while I was chatting with pidgin 2.6 and
 saw that no "I am typing" messages were sent to that partner. Chatting
 with another 2.6 client worked; typing messages were sent correctly.

 (And yes, both clients have had the "notify buddies that you are typing to
 them" enabled all along.)
