Comment:

 We don't currently support proxying DNS queries through a SOCKS5 proxy (I
 think. CCing datallah because IIRC, he added that support to SOCKS4). I am
 curious how the initial XMPP connection succeeded, given that, since I
 would expect that DNS query to also be performed locally.

 Please attach the output of the Help->Debug Window for the connection
 attempt.
