 I looked for related tickets and came across ticket #9649, but that seems
 to be specific for Vista and on 2.5.8.

 My problem has been 100% on both PCs I could try it on so far after
 upgrade from 2.5.8 to 2.6.1.  Both are notebooks connecting wirelessly.

 Other IM tools (live messenger, etc.) auto-reconnect fine.  On one of the
 PCs I've also installed SIPE and the SIPE account is auto-reconnected
 fine, but the GTalk account is not.  On the other notebook (on another
 network) there is no SIPE or other 3rd party plugin, but the same problem
 is occurring with GTalk after upgrading to 2.6.1.

 Considering ticket 9649, I'm wondering whether something might have been
 changed for that to improve things on Vista, but now breaking XP ...

 I'll be downgrading back to 2.5.8 until this is fixed, since having to
 every time manually reconnect when moving from one meeting to another is
 just too painful.
