#10046: Can't send MSN messages since upgrading: Message could not be sent because
the user is offline

Last night, I upgraded to Pidgin 2.6.1 (had previously been running a
slightly older version). That's when I started receiving these "kickback"
messages with one of my contacts, making it impossible to IM that contact.
The same happened with the same contact awhile ago, and with another
contact as well. I can IM my contacts for a little while but then after
awhile I think they've stopped replying until MSN starts kicking back my
IMs, with this error:
Message could not be sent because the user is offline
The users I'm talking to aren't offline, they have an online status and I
was just talking to them, so they couldn't be really offline.
I ran the debug window and got these messages (don't know how to read the
debug window, just know how to run it):
{{{
(16:35:01) msn: S: SB 098: ANS 1 OK
(16:35:02) msn: S: SB 095: 217 2
(16:35:02) msn: cal_error: command CAL gave error 217
(16:35:02) msn: Unable to send msg: {Can you get my messages?}
(16:35:02) msn: Switchboard with unassigned conversation
(16:35:02) msn: cal_error_helper: command CAL failed for reason 3
(16:35:02) msn: Error: Unable to call the user XXXXXX at hotmail.com for
reason 3
(16:35:02) msn: destroy httpconn (03E04C28)
(16:35:04) msn: destroy httpconn (01D64A78)
}}}
If it helps, the most odd thing I can think of that might potentially have
something to do with it is the fact that I have my status as "Away" at all
times to minimalize on pointless IMs.
I really need a fix for this ASAP, if there's no way to fix it, should I
downgrade Pidgin to an older version? I use MSN daily, so I don't want to
have to wait around too long without being able to use it.
