 I'm using pidgin-2.6.1-1.fc11.x86_64 and with this release pidgin has
 started to fail when set to "Use GNOME Proxy Settings" for my various IM
 accounts. It attempts to connect directly instead and this fails in my
 environment.

 Somewhat related to this problem it wasn't using the ignore list from
 gnome proxy settings for an internal XMPP server.

 I'm happy to attach debug logs and the like, just didn't know where to
 start for a problem of this nature.
