Comment:

 Stk: You're right. The original bug has been fixed. It should just work if
 you pick the videotestsrc aka Test Input for the default video input. If
 none of the options work when pressing the test buttons in gstreamer-
 properties, it sounds like it's a GStreamer issue. It would probably be
 better to go down that route then. If you want, you can find me in #pidgin
 and I can try to help there more, but it doesn't appear to be a pidgin
 issue. Good luck.

 All: Bottom line: This bug was caused by erroneous Gstreamer/Farsight2
 installations.
