 ok, disregard this report for now.  a magical storm moved in 2 hours
 before i reported and could possibly be the cause (dsl + major
 lag......doesnt explain the non-disconnects from NS though).  so work on
 other peoples bugs unless i update.  thanks for your time, it is much
 appreciated.
