 I'm currenting using Pidgin on Windows Vista machines, but this error also
 occurs for me on XP machines.

 Here's the catch, this has been happening to me for years.  every time I
 log into yahoo IM using pidgin starting from around the year 2005, I've
 gotton some form of the "Logging into the Yahoo! website may fix this"
 error when logging into Yahoo IM.  Only in recent versions of Pidgin has
 it been labeling this error as an "Account locked" error.  If I go to the
 yahoo website, log out and then log back in, then pidgin is able to log
 in.  This has been happening for me on every version of pidgin and ever
 machine I've used for the past 3-4 years.
