 Done a bit of testing today, and i'm certainly sure that at least the
 reception of offline messages breaks in rev
 c8d72361e5c9828c476ac5cb94f17584b1f407f9. If I update to the parent
 revision, I am receiving offline messages the next time I login.
 Unfortunately, I cannot tell exactly which lines in the diff introduce the
 faulty behaviour...
