 <mbarnes> warren: the plugin should not be including those headers to
 begin with.  we have stable client-side APIs that have not changed
 <mbarnes> warren: that is, unless the plugin is installing itself as an
 e-d-s backend.  in which case there may be some API breakage... I'm not
 sure
