 Hm, I've installed

 zypper in gstreamer-0_10-plugins-good-extra gstreamer-0_10-schroedinger
 gstreamer-utils

 and it seems to somehow fix my issues. So I guess this freeze happens when
 handling some lack of some tool/library/sth.
