New description:
Problem is that I can't see the other clients in my lan in my pidgin
window.
I am running "ii pidgin 1:2.6.3-1ubuntu1~pidgin1.9.04.1" on Jaunty.
I had the same issue with 2.5.5 which came with ubuntu, and I still see it
after upgrading to the developers ppa.
In my lan I have two other computers: one running gentoo and the other
maemo. both running pidgin with the bonjour protocol setup and they both
see each other. these clients also see the ubuntu client, but can't send
messages to it.
Running Avahi zeroconf browser I see that when I run pidgin a new line
appears as iChat presence for the ubuntu pc.
