 When I'm connecting to a group chat - and it can be any, I've tried
 Jabber MUC and IRC so far, if I have my preferences set to use tabs, when
 the second and subsequent tabs are opened with new channels, the
 background of the channel is inexplicably black instead of white, and the
 text input area at the bottom is less than one letter tall (and in
 changable). If I turn off tabs, close the tabs, and reopen those chats,
 the single windows remain black/small. However, if I leave tabs off,
 restart pidgin, and open the channels each in their own window, then close
 them, enable tabs and reopen them as tabs, they are formed properly.
